No Post Code!?

I assume this is not a particuarily Irish problem, though it manifests itself as such to me.
Here, I'll write it in big bold letters, so maybe google might pick it up.
IRELAND DOES NOT HAVE POSTCODES.
Is that big enough? I've just tried to buy something off yet another website that says 'You have not entered your zip/postcode correctly', when I enter 'MY' correct postal address.
We need to come up with a world standard. If your country doesnt use postcodes then 000 will do, or N/A (not applicable) or something. But please dont just assume I have one.
